Vestibular Physiotherapy

Marie specialises in vestibular rehabilitation. She can assess and treat Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV) which is caused by small crystals in the inner ear breaking free and becoming lodged within the balance semicircular canals.

Vestibular loss or damage to the inner ear can result in vertigo, nausea, unsteadiness and dizziness. This is treated with specific exercises for the eyes, head and balance systems that retrain the brain and body to compensate for the vestibular loss.

Hypno-physio

Hypno-physio refers to the integration of hypnotherapy and physiotherapy. Marie has found that these simple techniques and strategies can improve a client’s overall mindset and motivation, leading to a better outcome and an improved quality of life.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness in physiotherapy incorporates breathing exercises, meditation, body scans and relaxation to regulate the nervous system helping clients manage pain, stress and anxiety.
